Each year during traditional Thanksgiving meals, many people stuff their faces with tons of unhealthy food and drink and end up on a downward spiral of poor health going into the new year. They then start the new year with regrets; and form resolutions in an attempt to feel better!
Well… that tradition needs to stop! There really is no reason for continuing to do this. Custom and habits are hard to break, but… what if we just chose consciously to form new customs and habits?
Really, it’s that simple!
The mindset of “Well, that’s just the way things are, or have always been” is lame! Seriously! Why would we want to continue to practice customs and habits that are not in the best interest of our health- on a personal and planetary level?
You always have the power to choose! Be thankful for “life” and respect “life” on this planet!
Let this year be the one that you make the change– a new custom! a new habit! a new way of being!

*Sweet N Salty Apple Spice Recipe
Here’s another scrumptious plant-based recipe to help raise your level of vitality!
Ingredients: (preferably organic)
- 4 sweet apples (1.3 lb / 590 g)
- 3 Medjool dates (.15 lb / 70 g)
- Tender baby spinach (.5 lb / 230 g)
- 4 stalks celery (.5 lb / 230 g)
- Dash of cinnamon
- Water to desired consistency
Directions: Pit and pre soak dates if needed, blend all ingredients until smooth except the cinnamon. Use celery stalks ( or your vitamin tamper) to push the greens down. Slice and add the celery last. Pour into a big cup adding a shake of cinnamon on the top! Gratitude!

Answer: Having a healthy core is crucial to optimal health and well-being. This means not only having a strong core, but one that is ‘physiologically fit’ as well. Fake muscles should not take precedence over fit physiology. In other words, a healthy core should be healthy throughout its entirety, not just on the surface layers of muscles. What can’t be seen in the mirror, is just as important as what can be.
From a strict conditioning standpoint, the core of the body should be trained with: posture/alignment; breathing; mobility; stability; strength; power; and coordination exercises. This should be done in a way that will enhance function in everyday activities, such as self-care tasks, work, sports, and leisure activities. There are many approaches that claim to be the best. However, I feel the best approach is the one that will be followed consistently to help a person reach his or her goals.
